Every fall, Hammond Knoll cleans and stores patio cushions, outdoor rugs, and umbrella canopies so you don’t have to find room for them over the winter. Each item is cleaned using methods safe for its specific material, then wrapped and stored at our facility until you’re ready for it again in spring.
This service is especially useful for homeowners across Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and the South Puget Sound who don’t have garage or shed space to store cushions and rugs themselves. If you’d rather clean your outdoor fabrics and store them on your own, we also offer cleaning-only service with a turnaround of about two weeks. Just drop off, or ask about pickup.
WHAT WE STORE
Sofa, chair, and chaise cushions from patio furniture sets, plus outdoor pillows. Fabric types include Sunbrella and other acrylics, cotton canvas, and synthetics, each cleaned and treated using methods that are safe for that specific material.
Outdoor area rugs used on patios, decks, and porches. A natural pairing with the rug cleaning bundle offer below.
For market and tilt-style umbrellas, leave the canopy attached to its frame if possible it’s easier for us to clean that way. Cantilever umbrellas aren’t accepted as a full unit, but if you remove just the canopy yourself, we’re happy to clean it.

THE STORAGE PROGRAM
We store cushions, rugs, and umbrella, not furniture frames or cantilever umbrella stands.
Bring in cushions, rugs, and umbrella canopies as the weather starts to turn in fall. Payment is collected in full at drop-off.
Technicians assess fabric type and condition, then clean and treat each item using safe, material-appropriate methods.
Cleaned items are wrapped in vented plastic and held at Hammond Knoll through the winter months.
Reach out when you’re ready for your items back. We ask that everything be picked up by Memorial Day, as additional storage fees may apply after that date.
Drop off your patio cushions, rugs, and umbrellas. We’ll clean, protect, and store them until spring.
